Susan Schumpert is the owner of Blue Ridge Mt. Pottery. Her work is primarily hand build high fire stoneware. The clay is sand colored, and she uses blues, greens, and beige glazes poured in landscape designs over her pottery. To some people they represent the mountains, valleys, and rivers and to others, they invoke the ocean, sand, and shoreline. She makes clay ponds, vases, clay boats, platters, and other serving pieces. Susan's work can be purchased at her studio in Annapolis, MD or shipped directly to the customer.
In addition to her own work, she now carries lovely porcelain earrings and pendants made by Blue Bus Studios in NC. They are made from canes of colored clay, have vibrant colors, and top quality findings. To view pictures of the jewelry, go to bluebusstudio.com.
At her holiday sale, there will also be nautical and landscape photography available. The photographer is her son, David Schumpert.
